LockStar, a home security business, entered one of the most competitive and crowded categories on Amazon—Home and Garden—in August 2022. The brand offers a versatile door lock system with multiple access methods, including card, phone app, key, fingerprint, and code. Despite this innovative product, LockStar struggled to gain traction through traditional paid channels, leading the founders, Paul and Ruth Nicoll, to consider closing the brand.

The Challenge 

As a new brand on Amazon, LockStar faced immense challenges in driving sales. Competing in a saturated market with well-established players, their paid efforts created challenges. With sales stagnating, they were on the brink of liquidating their inventory and closing down the business.

The Turning Point 

Paul Nicoll, also the owner of the successful brand Ella Bella, had previously experienced significant growth through affiliate marketing with Levanta. Encouraged by these results, Paul decided to test Levanta’s affiliate marketing platform for LockStar, using it as their sole marketing channel.

LockStar got started on Levanta in under five minutes, allowing them to tap into Levanta’s Creator Marketplace and establish direct partnerships with over 100 creators and high-value publishers. Impact
